Flatlay for the Website

This is one of those instances where I’m not sure I’m getting my point across. I want the picture on the homepage of the website to somehow, visually, convey a message of creativity and inspiration. I want the photo to hint at what our business is about without being too direct.

I used the first picture (the one above) as the main photo for the homepage, and my partner saw it and said he thought it looked too busy. He’s forever the eternal minimalist. I think it would be great if the photo could have one or two elements, but still say “Do It Yourself Crafting Kits”

I don’t know if we’re getting it here, but it’s a start. We ended up going with the photo below, well, a portion of it anyway. We cut out all of the orange, which is an element I quite liked. Which photo do you prefer?
